Custom Designed Learning Tools
Customised learning tools can also be created.
If you have a teaching tool in mind, or an existing tool which you have created but want crafted and produced, Learning Mates can help you do this. Here are some examples of customised tools created before.
1. Number Town Storybook and Posters
A Johannesburg Prep school had created their own stories to teach children their numbers and number formations. They just needed some beautiful illustrations created to bring their stories to life.
A large format storybook was created which the teachers could read to their pupils and show them the beautiful illustrations. Along with the storybook, posters were also created to put up around the classroom to remind the children of the stories.
2. Vertical Letter Formation Cards
A Grade R teacher asked if the letter formation cards could be modified to make them a larger A4 format. She also wanted to be able to put the cards up vertically so that her pupils could feel and practice their letters in this way. Magnets were attached to the back of the cards so that the teacher could put them up on magnetic whiteboards around her classroom.
3. Cursive Writing Kit
An Occupational Therapist at a Johannesburg Prep school had a very specific way of teaching her pupils cursive writing. Using her clever teaching method, a kit was created brining her methods to life. She was able to use this kit in her session and pupils were able to purchase the kit as well to practice their cursive writing at home.
